Thus it expresses race issues through interesting play and conveys message in the form of comedy play. This way the writer is able to pass a sensitive, heavy and broad message in a simple and entertaining way. The theme of racism is well depicted in this play when a secretary from the Governor’s office buys a brown-skinned robot for the administration since it will appear good to have Mexican type on the staff. However the secretary rejects them since they do not have an American look. The issue of race prejudice and demands of the American culture leads to some Mexican American decide to overlook their race and separate themselves form own ethnic groups hence the play Los Vendidos (sell-out). Stereotyping Stereotyping is another theme explored in this play according to Helium (2). All the characters and their characteristics in this play embody the Mexican stereotype. The first character in the play is a farmworker and portrays the stereotype of farm workers in Mexico. He is the most ordinary and diplomat of the low class Mexican way of life in America. He only speaks Spanish since farm workers in Mexico do not know English (Glassvisage par 2). The farm worker consumes traditional meals such as beans consumed by fellow Chicanos in Mexico hence the stereotyping as suggested. Another character who represents stereotype is Pachuo who is a gangster in Mexican stereotype. He uses weapons to steal and he does not conform to the law so Miss Jimenez rejects him. His character of being a gangster is character for Mexicans who are prejudiced in America hence end up engaging in crime. Another stereotype is that of Revolucionaria who the older Hollywood reflection of a Mexican person is. He is mostly in western movies and he is seen as a romantic man whom women lust over and is used as marketing tool by most of companies. As a result he is one of the images the Mexican wants to take out of the American culture. The last implication of stereotype is through character Eric Garcia who is the perfect stereotype the Americans want about him. He acts like a Whiteman but still with his dark skin though he is an American-Mexican. He and other Mexican-American speak both English and Spanish which implies that they still posses the Chicano identity. They expected to be educated, hardworking and mannered in the right way to differentiate them from other Mexicans. Witchcraft - Satan Woship, or Just another Religion? In today's society, new religions are popping up all over the place. One of the oldest, yet fastest growing faiths today is witchcraft. This earth-based, nature oriented belief has been established since the thirteenth century, but it is not until recently that it has began to spread across the world. Everywhere we look we see something associated with the practice of wicca. The movie, Blair Witch Project, is one example of the growing belief in spells, charms, and covens. However, there are many people who disapprove of this practice and are labeling it as a 'false religion.'; Christians, for example, greatly disagree with the belief of witchcraft and find it in association with the devil. Today, there is considerable debate as to whether witchcraft in today's society is simply a harmless religion, or if it is an evil practice in league with Satan. Before anyone can speak their opinion on the practice of witchcraft, one must know a little bit about the religion itself. There are many different definitions of witchcraft. In Webster's Dictionary, it defines witchcraft as. The Christian definition of witchcraft is simply 'devil-worship'; or just plain sin. However, the secular definition is somewhere along the lines of 'cool,'; 'trendy,'; and 'new.'; Although these are the main meanings of the term 'witch craft,'; there are also some other definitions within different cultures, such as Indian medicine men, also known as witch doctors, who are believed to have magical powers that can heal the sick. Different time periods and religions also alter the meaning of witch or witchcraft.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The history of witchcraft dates back all the way to the thirteenth century. During the 13th and 14th centuries, witchcraft was considered to only be harmless magic. However, in the 16th century, witches were condemned and tortured. Later, during the 17th century, witch hunts and trials died off, along with the 'witch craze.';   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Witchcraft was practiced in many different regions around the world. Most experts believe it's origination was somewhere in India or Africa, where magic was used as medicine. Later, the practice was brought over to New England with the pilgrims where it slowly began to grow within the puritan communities. There was a diverse group of people who practiced witchcraft. This is one of the hardest questions to answer. Some of them say yes and others say no. While most say no, all witches believe that if you are in a religion, you are in that ONE religion alone. Witches disagree with belonging to several faiths, but they never remove themselves completely from another faith. Many things witches do are associated with Christianity, such as, weddings, Christmas services, and even talking to Christian relatives. While they do keep their distance from other religions, witches never cut off all communication with Christians and other religions.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  So is witch craft evil? Is it a false religion? There will never be a real answer to these questions. It seems that no one can agree on the same answer. Even the witches themselves have disputes within their own belief. Even though the Bible does give factual information as to what's right and what's wrong, it is up to each individual person to decide for themselves what they are going to believe in. Strict Parents

STRICT PARENTS Having strict parents is both a blessing and a curse. Of course, I appreciate how they don’t want something to happen to me, but I’m already 18 years old and I need to live my life before I regret it. I know my parent’s think what is best for me. They probably want to teach me about discipline and respect for the elders, but that’s not what I want to hear, so I get frustrated. These are the 3 reason why my parents are so strict. My parents are overprotective. It honestly frustrates me when half the time I’m never allowed to go anywhere with my friends, and go to places without my parents having to be right next to me.I understand they want to protect me because they love me, and I appreciate it, but it gets to the point when sometimes it’s just ridiculous and over the top. How can I ever enjoy myself during vacation if I’m never allowed out? Last week my friend Kim invited me to go out and watch movie at night time, I as ked my parents if I can go watch the movie with Kim and they just won’t let me go out so I cried that night and just stayed in my room. They won’t even let me have a boyfriend because their thinking that I’m going to get pregnant if I have one. They just don’t trust me on having a bf.When will I ever be free? I know they limited my life a lot (until I went off college). I am their baby at 18 years old, but deep down very sensible and not rebellious. However, to this day I have insecurities because of limitations placed on me. They discipline me by imposing a curfew to help me to become a responsible person, but of course it comes with a punishment. for example, when I go out with my friends, they always tell me that I have to be home by 10:00, and I have to obey them and go home on time because when I’m not on time there will be a consequence.Last month I went to my best friend’s birthday party and I was surprised that my parents allowed me to go out but I have to be home by 10:00 pm. I was enjoying my time at the party and I didn’t even notice the time and it was 1:00 am. I looked at my phone my parents have 25 missed call and I knew that I’m in trouble. I was grounded for 2 weeks and my mom confiscated my phone because I didn’t answer her phone call. I didn’t feel bad because it’s actually my fault if I was really aware of my time I wouldn’t be on that situation and I still love my parents.Most of all, they are strict because of their cultural traditions like when they grew up on their traditional rules and they are kind of doing the same thing to me. My mom used to tell me in the old days they were more strict than today. Their parents don’t let them go out without any companion. They had to do their chores every day before they could go out, and their parents also picked the right guy for them and that is hard because being with a guy that they don’t love is t otally unfair.I can’t imagine placing myself in that situation but my parents are using that rule to me and it’s so unfair for my part. For example, there was a time that I had to go to my friend’s birthday party, and my mom wouldn’t let me go out without any companion, so I have to bring my cousin with me to be sure that I went there and didn’t go some other place. I mean I’m old enough to go there alone without any companion with me. I just want to do my own thing and just be me. I want to be independent, and my parents just don’t get it.My parents are being strict because they are afraid of losing me. As I am their only child it’s their responsibility to protect me. Well, to solve this problem I will probably talk to my parents about them being strict and explain myself to them how am I feeling about them being strict. I will also prove them that I can be a good daughter, and I will gain their trust so that they won’t be as strict as before. I just want to live my life without rules and be a good daughter to them because I love them so much.
